Where should I purchase a Goldendoodle Puppy?
This is one of the most important questions that future Goldendoodle owners should be asking themselves. It is always recommended to purchase directly from an ethical and reputable breeder! When purchasing any puppy, regardless of breed, it is crucial to understand the breeding practices of whom you are purchasing your puppy from as this can have a significant impact on the health and temperament of your future Goldendoodle. A great resource for vetting a reputable breeder are reviews, does the breeder only display reviews on their website or are they also listed on an unfiltered source where you be sure the reviews are legitimate and coming from real buyers.
We recommend always asking questions such as;
How often females dogs are bred?
What is the retirement age?
What are the living conditions
What Veterinary care is provided?
Can we meet mom & dad?
What Socialization is provided for the puppies?
Nutrition, what kind of food do the puppies eat?
Are the puppies provided enrichment or excercise?
Are parents genetically tested?
Is there any training provided?
Are there health guarantees?
Do they offer ENS/ESI curriculum?
Are the puppies introduced to a crate?
Do the puppies received vaccinations and microchips from a licensed vet?
Is any assistance offered after the puppy goes home?
Do you inbreed your Goldendoodles?
The answers to these questions will sure get you going in the right direction, however it is not all inclusive. There are breeders that will go to the moon and back for the puppies there are breeding and it typically shines through with the curriculum and offerings included with a puppy purchase.

Mini Goldendoodles are ideal for apartments and smaller homes, while Medium Goldendoodles and Standard Goldendoodles need more space and exercise. What is the difference between Goldendoodle generations.
There are many different generations of Goldendoodles and they are not all created equal, each with varying quirks and genetic differences. Choosing between an F1 Goldendoodle, F1B Goldendoodle , and F1BB Goldendoodle comes down to your family's lifestyle, allergy concerns, and grooming preferences. F1 Goldendoodles are a 50% Golden Retriever and 50% Poodle cross, making them the first-generation Goldendoodle. They typically have wavy coats with moderate shedding, F1B Goldendoodles (75% Poodle) typically have soft, wavy to curly, very low-shedding coats that are easier to maintain, while F1BB Goldendoodles (87.5% Poodle) have tighter curls, virtually no shedding, and are often a great choice for families with moderate to severe allergies. Multi-Generational Goldendoodles are created to have specific detailed traits! At Golden Life Doodles we specialize in Multi-Generational Goldendoodles; We keep back the most desirable traits from the parents and pass on those traits to the future Goldendoodle puppies. Multi- Generational Goldendoodle puppies tend to have non-shedding traits and more consistent looks! All generations of Goldendoodles are intelligent, affectionate, and family-friendly, so the right choice depends on whether you prioritize a lower-maintenance coat or the most hypoallergenic option.

How much time do I need to dedicate to an 8 week old puppy as well as an adult Goldendoodle?
Young puppies require a lot of initial attention if you want to raise a well mannered and well socialized Goldendoodle puppy. You can bring home the best tempered and well socialized puppy out of the litter, however without the right amount of time, patience, and training dedicated to them, they can quickly turn desctructive, anxiety driven, or develop bad habits that are hard to break! It is important to dedicate at least 2 full days if possible to welcome your new puppy, however 1 week is ideal. Goldendoodle Puppies at this age typically go potty every 2-3 hrs so ideally you would be spending around around 3-5 hrs a day on potty and crate training, however with the right training, and/or the right set up, you can lower this threshold. When in adulthoood, you should plan to spend at least 1hr of dedicated excercise time with your Goldendoodle, whether that is going on a hike or walk or playtime in yard or house such as fetch or tug. It is also recommended to professionally train your Goldendoodle and this can be done in as minimal as 1hr a week however the more the better. If you find yourself strugglin with training, you can always set your puppy up with a board and train program where a professional trainer can layout the groundwork and do all the training and show you the ropes on how to maintain the training. You should also note that Goldendoodles have high maintenance coats that require daily, or at least weekly brushing and depending on size can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 20 minutes, sometimes longer if your Goldendoodle is not fond of a slicker brush.

What should I do to prepare to welcome a Goldendoodle to my home?
Before your Goldendoodle puppy arrival, we recommend having the following items:
Crate
Playpen if leaving puppy home for extended amount of time
Potty pads or potty system if puppy will be in playpen for extended time
Food & Water bowls
Collar
Leash
Toys

Amongst these items, you should also prepare a designated space for the puppies crate, preferably close to a backyard door to make potty trainer easier with closer access to the yard or close access to patio door if in an apartment; if you are in an apartment it's recommended you purchase either artificial turf or fresh patches of grass for potty training.
